Core Competency Spotlight: Absence
How Workpartners® Absence MonitorTM can provide your clients with real-time absence management
Employee call-offs and leaves of absence can cause a cascading set of problems for an organization. The sooner your clients know that an employee won’t be at work, the sooner they can address the issue.
Workpartners® Absence Monitor is a unique proprietary tool in the absence management industry—created to help your clients better manage operations and the receipt of absence notifications through:
- One centralized, secure, real-time application for call-off notifications and approval.
- The flexibility to monitor and approve activity from a desktop or mobile-friendly environment.
- Custom configurations to meet their organizational needs.
Keeping your clients’ operations running smoothly is vital. Absence Monitor allows your teams to effectively monitor and address time away from work while keeping the day-to-day running smoothly. This is the best way your clients can drive engagement, boost performance, and improve their employees’ health.

KnovaSolutions: Helping Employers Identify and Engage High-Risk Employees
Disease and condition management programs alone typically fail because they are built around diseases, not people. We go beyond the health-related challenges that amplify the stresses of day-to-day life by providing clinical decision support.
Our KnovaSolutions® clinical services take a holistic approach. The services equip and empower people to navigate the health care system, improve their health, and make more-informed decisions. Each participant works directly with a registered nurse, who coordinates with a licensed pharmacist and medical librarian to provide information, action plans, and support—including education and coaching that focus on empowering participants and families to regain control over their lives, health, and health care. This approach improves quality of life and works to lower overall costs.
Our research has shown that 5 percent of an employer’s population consumes 50 percent or more of all health benefit costs. Improving outcomes for that high-cost, at-risk population can make a major impact in their lives while dramatically reducing human capital expenses. Clients see an average ROI of 2:1 to 5:1, and 99 percent of participants say they would recommend the program to others.

Data that empowers decision making
In recent years many employers have gained access to data warehouses. The aim is to generate actionable insights from mining “big data.” But the value of findings from such data can be limited when only medical and pharmaceutical expenses are included. Integrating a broader array of data produces more actionable findings. Expanded databases incorporate disability and absence data, which reflect the policy incentives and disincentives that drive people’s behavior and benefits consumption.
Leveraging integrated workers’ compensation, disability, and incidental absence data alongside medical and pharmaceutical claims allows for the development of
predictive, individual risk indices that enable timely interventions for your clients and their employees.

We are uniquely able to provide integrated reporting across all employee absence, disability, and workers’ compensation programs. This integration and data technology allow us to calculate return-on-investment and return-on-value statements.
Workpartners can provide third-party administrative (TPA) services in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, District of Columbia, West Virginia, and Virginia. We have been providing workers’ compensation third-party administrator services to public and private clients of all sizes since 1997. Our approach allows us to address data conversion, case management, physician peer review, strong analytical safety support, safety committee support, medical cost containment, OSHA reporting, and other complementary services for work-related claims.
